I Heard It Sees
The photograph is taken using lens filter made by image of A.I. generated eye and a 4x5 camera. I use the dialog between analog photography and computer image generation to push back against the dematerialization of photographic practices. I want to reflect on how the dematerialized technology environment coexists with the physical world, through the cold gaze of the machines, these X-ray-like photograph negatives examinates the perception of reality, virtuality, time, and space.
Jingyi Gao is a New York-based multi-media artist who focuses their practice on photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Her work evolved around the intertwined destiny of technology and the human body. She uses Artificial Intelligence as a mirror to reflect on our place in the world.
