Advantages of Selling In Person

In-person sales also give you the opportunity to upsell customers. For example, if someone comes into the gallery and falls in love with a painting, either you or the curator can offer them prints or other smaller items that they can take home with them right then and there. Online sales don't usually provide that same opportunity for upselling because customers typically have to wait for their purchase to be shipped before they receive it. 

Selling in person generally results in higher prices than selling online because customers are more likely to pay full price when they're standing in front of the item they want to buy. When people are shopping online, they can easily compare prices and find the cheapest option available, so you'll need to be competitive if you want to make sales.

And since most online sales platforms take care of shipping for you, there's no need to worry about packaging or delivering your art yourself.

If you want to build personal connections with your customers and earn higher prices for your artwork, then selling in person is probably the way to go. But if you're looking for a wider customer base and less hassle overall, then selling online might be the better option for you.
